How to actually use Asana and HAVE IT WORK FOR YOU

My goal with this post is to help you use Asana consistently so you can actually experience the benefits of using this powerful, life-changing work management tool.

You can either keep reading or watch the video below:

Make it a habit

It’s time to start thinking about Asana as your digital hub.

It's not just a to-do list.

It's where you will manage your entire business and life.

In order to make it a habit, you need to commit to using Asana every single day.

You also need to make sure you’re not letting things slip through the cracks, you’re not letting your inbox pile up and get out of control.

Make it a daily habit from day one and it will save you so much time and mental energy.

This goes for your team as well. They need to be creating this habit along with you in order for it to work effectively.

And, trust me, you want to experience what it's like to have Asana work for you!

If you're looking for help getting your Asana account set up and optimized, I can help you with that either by doing it all for you, custom to your business, or through my course if you want to do it yourself with my guidance. Click here to get started.

How to use Asana:

Instead of spending time clicking through all of your projects and trying to find things to be working on, prioritize your My Tasks and Inbox.

First, make sure that all of the tasks you need to be completing are assigned to you. Get in the habit of doing this for every task that you create. Every task should be assigned to someone, including you.

My Tasks is where all of the tasks that you need to complete will show, and with due dates.

The Inbox is where anything that requires your attention will be. Similar to email, but specific to tasks and projects your team is working on.

So, you'll want to spend your time viewing the tasks you need to complete in My Tasks, completing them, and checking them off throughout the day.

And spend time in the Inbox responding to inquiries from your team or checking status updates on projects.

Using Asana in this way will be the best use of your time and really improve efficiency in your work day.

Make the commitment

If you commit to this and make it a habit, then you only have one tool to check in on each day.

You know exactly what to work on and when so you actually get things done and grow your business.

Focus on the small actionable steps you lay out in Asana, not the overwhelming big projects. The small steps will get you there.

Trust the process

Imagine what you will do with all the extra time you have once your organizational systems are set in place! Focus on that as you're creating this habit. This will make things hugely better once you hire team members, too, if you haven't already.

If you're just getting started with Asana, make sure to check this post next to get started in the right way!
