My specialty is helping you use and optimize the free version of Asana, so everything in this post and on my website to date can be done using the free plan.
Here are the 5 reasons you need to start using Asana right now!
1) To save time and mental energy
With Asana, you can get everything out of your head and start storing it in a safe place. Never question which tool you will need to use. It will always be Asana.
You can brain dump everything and everything into Asana. Every time you have an idea, put it in Asana. If there's something you know you want to tackle in the future, but it's not time yet, but you also don't want to forget about it, put it in Asana.
No need to remember all the things, which takes up that precious mental space. Relax knowing that Asana will remember for you.
For example, I always set up a project for my clients called Tasks & Ideas. This is where they put all of their ideas. Anything and everything they think of goes in here. It's also the place to put all those general tasks that don't fit within a specific project. Tasks that need to be done now, in the future, or on a recurring basis can go here.
You can also use templates to save time and mental energy. Instead of having to remember all the steps to a workflow each time, template it and forget about it until you need to use it. Again, Asana will remember for you.
2) To organize your business
Asana has lots of different ways you can organize and systemize your business and in customizable ways. Asana recognizes that we all work differently and it supports that. There are multiple ways you can organize your data and projects, with different views, colours, images, tags, and so much more.
For example, I recommend that my clients organize different projects differently based on each project's needs as well as how my clients prefer to view their projects. Typically content planning would be viewed in the calendar view so that you can clearly see (with colours) all of the content that is planned and when it is scheduled to be posted. Whereas a launch management project would typically be in a list format so you can focus on your task list and check things off as you go. The board view is great for any project that has moving parts or if there are images you want to include to make the project more visual.
There are also different levels of hierarchy within Asana that allow for great organization. There are subtasks that are organized within tasks that are organized within projects that are organized within teams that are organized within your organization.
3) For better productivity
Everything I've mentioned so far and what I will continue to discuss in this video all have to do with helping your productivity, but Asana makes productivity so much easier.
You set due dates and can easily see what you need to be working on and when. You can see what's upcoming so you can manage your time appropriately.
Asana keeps your attention only where it's needed by alerting you only to the projects or tasks that you are a collaborator on. You don't need to worry about anything else.
4) To have a central hub for your business
Asana makes it easy to create a central hub. So that you can:
Always know where to put something and where to find something.
Create a centralized place for managing tasks, projects, and deadlines.
Store all of your business information.
Collaborate with others on projects.
Easily see a big-picture overview of everything happening in your business.
This makes it easy to keep track of everything in one place and prevents things from slipping through the cracks.
If any of this sounds overwhelming for you or you just don't know where to start, I'd be happy to set it all up for you. I can come in and set everything up from scratch or work with what you already have set up if you've started, I set it up custom to your unique business, and leave you with templates and video walkthroughs so you know exactly how to use your new system. If that sounds like something that you need, click here to learn more and get started now.
5) To make growing a team easier
Asana allows you to have one place for team members to check in, ask questions, get feedback, and for general communication.
You can even communicate right within tasks so that it's clear which task is being discussed and you can easily come back to the task at a later date and have all relevant information.
It allows for everyone to be clear on what they need to be doing and when.
You or your manager can easily keep track of everything your team is working on without getting distracted by things you don't need to worry about.
The inbox is where you will see and keep track of everything that involves you, and it leaves out everything that doesn't. Anytime someone else mentions you, completes a task, asks a question, provides an update, assigns you a new task, or sends you a message - these will appear here. And this is the same for everyone on your team.
You don't need to search for updates or look for notifications on other platforms. It's all right in Asana.
